Everything a product photo needs, in one browser tab
Cut-out, backdrop, shadow, light and export. Each tool below works today and is described with its limits.

A cut-out that never leaves your device
When you add a photo, ShelfPics loads an open-source segmentation model into your browser and separates the product from whatever is behind it: a bedsheet, a kitchen worktop, a cluttered desk. The photo is processed locally and is not uploaded.
The first time you open the studio, the model files (about 42 MB) are downloaded and cached by your browser, so later cut-outs start straight away. A cut-out usually takes a few seconds, longer on older phones.
Cut-outs work best on a single product with a clear edge. Glass, fine hair, mesh and very thin straps can come out rough, so look at the result before you export.
Clean backdrops for marketplace listings
Pick pure white for marketplace main images, a soft grey for a calm catalogue look, or a brand colour for ads. Gradients give a studio-sweep feel without any extra work.
The product is placed in the frame with even margins. You can move it, scale it and rotate it a few degrees, and the frame updates live.
Marketplace rules change and differ by category, so treat the presets as a starting point and check the channel's current image requirements.
Shadows that sit the product on the surface
A product floating on a flat colour looks fake. ShelfPics builds a contact shadow from the shape of your own cut-out, tight under the product and softer further out, and you control its strength and softness.
For glossy products you can add a faint reflection on the surface below. It fades out smoothly instead of ending in a hard edge.
Shadows are drawn from your cut-out, not from a guess, so they follow the real outline of the product.

Lifestyle scenes, made without touching the product
Choose one of eight scenes and ShelfPics asks an image model for an empty surface and background only. Your product photo is never sent to the model, and the model never repaints your product, so the label, the colours and the shape stay exactly as you shot them.
Because the backdrop is generated separately, results vary. If you do not like a backdrop, generate another. A scene backdrop costs 2 credits, and you can reuse it for every export size of that shot.
AI backdrops are illustrations of a place, not a promise of a specific look. Scenes are not available for custom prompts yet.
Match the product to its backdrop
Phone photos taken indoors often look dull or yellow next to a bright backdrop. Three simple controls, brightness, contrast and warmth, pull the product toward the light of the scene.
The controls change the product layer only, so your backdrop stays as it is. Reset returns the photo to how it was shot.
These are quick global adjustments, not a full retouching suite.
Every size you need, from one shot
Presets cover a square Shopify image, an Etsy 4:3 listing photo, an Amazon-style white main image, eBay, Instagram and Facebook posts, Stories, Pinterest pins, a Meta feed ad and a website banner.
The product is re-framed for each shape rather than stretched, and the backdrop is extended or cropped to fit. You can export as PNG, JPG or WebP.
A shot is charged once. Exporting that shot in ten sizes costs the same as exporting it in one.
How credits work
One simple rule set, spent on our servers so the balance is always right.
1 credit
A clean-background shot. Cut-out, backdrop, shadow and light, exported in as many sizes as you tick. It is charged once per photo, so ten sizes cost the same as one.
2 credits
An AI lifestyle backdrop. Each generated scene costs 2 credits and can be reused for every size of that shot. Generating a different scene is a new charge.
0 credits
Re-exporting a shot you already paid for, changing sizes or formats, and any scene that failed on our side. Failed scenes are returned to your balance automatically.
Credits come with a plan and stack when you buy another one. Unused credits expire when the access period ends. See Pricing for the plans.
